Act I.

Time: 2003.

Place: gloomy halls of the Faculty of Humanities at Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.

Characters: Bogumiła Czop and Alicja Dewor, freshly immatriculated first year students of English philology, specializing in American Studies.

The plot: first meetings, long talks about goals and dreams, study sessions, the very first joint project, a faculty newspaper published by the American Research Club, and the sudden realization that working together can go so smoothly — a total creative synchronization.

The time has come for Act II to begin…

While in high school, awarded with the Prime Minister’s scholarship. Ambitious, industrious, versatile. Loves  languages, postmodernism and big cities. A true explorer – she has traveled to the USA, Dubai, India and Thailand, but she always comes back to her beloved Spain.

Constantly learning, she also enjoys teaching: for a couple of years she taught English in such language schools as Speak Up, Profi-Lingua or Cife Idiomes in Barcelona. Ever since she obtained the highest Spanish certificate, Dele Superior, she’s been teaching Spanish as well. For three years she worked for Warco, a German company, where she perfected her skills as a translator and copywriter. Famous for her impeccable organizational skills and absolute timeliness.

Never rests on her laures. While studying in Lublin full-time, she started working towards her second degree in applied social studies at the University of Warsaw. The postgraduate studies in specialized translations at Vistula University in Warsaw were just a natural next step.

Having a diverse background in the humanities and an inclination for writing proved essential when she was working as an editor, journalist, translator and copywriter. She worked for InStyle magazine, for a Polish online lifestyle service iCzas, and for the past two years she has been freelancing: copywriting, translating, creating Facebook campaigns and writing reviews. At the moment she also teaches in English at Vistula University in Warsaw and the Medical University of Warsaw.
